NJHEART Partners
NJEA Consortium
NJHEART is proud to be a Strategic Partner with the NJEA Consortium, a collaboration dedicated to advancing excellence and equity in New Jersey education. This partnership allows us to align our efforts and mutually promote resources that support educators in creating inclusive, equitable, and respectful learning environments.
The NJEA Consortium has recently unveiled two important, free resources for educators:
Macro-Curriculum: An innovative framework integrating Understanding by Design (UbD) principles with Culturally and Historically Responsive Education (CHRE). Read the full announcement here.
Consortium Repository of Resources: A comprehensive collection of externally vetted materials, expert Content Scholar Talks, and instructional resources aligned with the NJ-mandated curriculum. This Phase I repository is available free of charge to all NJEA members. Learn more about the repository here.
We encourage all educators to explore these resources and visit the main NJEA Consortium website for more information about their work: https://learning.njea.org/consortium/.
Teach Asian American Stories
NJHEART partners with Teach Asian American Stories (TAAS) to ensure educators across New Jersey have access to high-quality resources and training that foster understanding of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) experience.
TAAS is dedicated to addressing and preventing race-based intolerance by emphasizing the significant contributions of Asian Americans throughout history. Their mission empowers educators to incorporate AAPI history into their daily lessons, dismantle pernicious stereotypes like the "perpetual foreigner" and "model minority," and ensure all AAPI children feel they matter and belong in the classroom. We strongly encourage educators to check out their professional development offerings.
This collaboration is vital in providing specialized expertise for educators committed to building truly inclusive and respectful learning environments.
NJEA Consortium
NJHEART is honored to partner with the NAACP of Hunterdon County, an organization fundamentally committed to advancing racial and social justice within our community.
We have been fortunate to collaborate with the NAACP to co-host virtual and in-person professional development training sessions that directly support their mission of eliminating discrimination and protecting civil rights. These co-hosted trainings equip educators with the knowledge and strategies necessary to address inequality in schools and ensure that all students have respectful, equal opportunities.
This partnership is essential to grounding our work in broader civil rights advocacy and maximizing our collective impact on fostering truly equitable learning environments.
